S.I.S. Week 2, Day 1: Promising Pages

S.I.S. interns spent the day at Promising Pages. They cleaned, stamped, and wrapped books in wrapping paper in preparation for the Magic Book Party tomorrow.

S.I.S. interns learned about the history of the organization and were able to understand the mission of Promising Pages through a video the director made and that Brennan showed them. Brennan works for Promising Pages and is a recent Queens alumna, so it was neat to hear her stories and learn about her journey as a Queens student and how it led to her working at Promising Pages.

Promising Pages provides books to children who do not have the privilege to own books. Reading is a necessity and Promising Pages teaches children that being a bookworm is fun and will lead to success in life. The organization excites children about the adventures of reading and the endless possibilities that reading provides in life.
